About Me
I created The New Way Writer with the goal of helping my students become the best writers they can be.
I began my writing career as an assistant on Everybody Loves Raymond. Afterwards, I wrote for the award winning Nickelodeon family series, The Brothers Garcia, which led to becoming a finalist for the Disney Fellowship Program.
Various other staffing jobs followed including The Ortegas for FOX.
Soon after I was was developing and pitching my own projects to studios. One of which was a television series with the Oscar winning Killer Films attached to produce and Oscar winner Olivia Colman to star. I've been fortunate to have several of my my feature film scripts optioned as well as to have been commissioned for projects with Lifetime and Paulist Productions to name a few.
Recently it was my delight to write on the reboot for The Brothers Garcia which was entitled The Garcias for Max.
Teaching came into the fold when a writer friend needed a fresh pair of eyes for her script. I found it enjoyable because I was coming at it from the perspective of knowing what can plague the creative mind.
I've taught at institutions and schools across the country including The Loft Literary Center in Minneapolis, The Westport Writer's Workshop, The Fairfield Writers Workshop, The Westport Library, Muhlenberg College, The Unicorn Conference, and NYC's Shelter Studios.
It's also been my pleasure to have served as a panelist and judge for The Rhode Island International Film Festival and The Dusty Awards for The School of Visual Arts in New York.
Helping to nurture the strongest script that's within every writer's grasp is its own reward. And one thing rings true with every writer - no matter what their level... the struggle with putting the best, most authentic story on the page.
Sometimes, hearing an element of story told a different way is all it takes for a breakthrough.
I hope to be that voice for you.
